Baxter Kambole
Baxter and his wife Chisokwa have three children: Son Yuyi (20), who is currently training in the military as a pilot, son Lusungu (nine) and daughter Niza (five). A Christ-centred family, they live with unending faith in Christ’s promise for their future, and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of people in need.
After high school, Baxter followed his love for flying and joined the Zambia Air Force as a pilot. After having attained his license, he also served in the United Nations in the Republic of Congo. Chisokwa has worked in an accounts department in the private sector for the past twelve years.
Baxter became interested in MAF when he spotted their aircraft parked in the hangars. This encouraged him to find out more, as MAF was doing the same work he was doing with the Zambia Flying Doctors. When he saw that MAF was looking for pilots he applied, as this aligned with his and Chisokwa’s dream of wanting to serve and make a positive impact in people’s lives. Baxter says, “I love challenging flying, and I have flown many mercy missions with a Cessna Caravan.” They have great expectations of serving God by helping others after being placed in a MAF programme.
Once his recruitment journey is complete, he will be placed where he best fits in a MAF programme to help reach our end goal, keeping MAF aircraft in the air. Please pray for Baxter and other new candidates as they raise financial support to answer the call of God on their lives.
