Marimbe Family
The Marimbes are heading to serve with MAF in Uganda
Their Story
In wanting to serve as followers of Christ in a MAF programme, our future candidates have felt the tug in their hearts… “Come, follow Me”. Meet Kennedy, a highly qualified aircraft engineer, ready to start work with MAF.
Both Kennedy and his wife Jothina grew up in Christian families and are determined to instil these values in their children, Cheryl (four) and Tyron Tawananyasha (one).
Growing up in Zimbabwe, Kennedy dreamt of a career in aviation. A dream he realised in 2007 when he completed his National Certificate in Aircraft Engineering. He then acquired a National Diploma, training in aircraft engineering, specialising in avionics. In 2019 he obtained an EASA Part 66 B2 licence. He expects to receive his EASA Part 66 B1.1 licence end of July 2022. Kennedy has worked for various aviation companies in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Jothina has a master’s degree in business administration and has been working in a shipping company in Zimbabwe for the past 10 years. She’s also involved in various church activities at their local church, including the children’s ministry.
Having heard about MAF from a colleague, Kennedy got inspired about the missionary work MAF is doing. After discussing this with Jothina, who is also passionate about charity work, he applied to join MAF in June 2021. After receiving a positive response, the selection process started. Now Kennedy is hoping to be moving with his family to MAF Uganda to serve the Lord as an aircraft engineer. Kennedy says, “I would love to combine serving God with my aviation career.”
Once his recruitment journey is complete, he will be placed where he best fits in a MAF programme to help reach our end goal, keeping MAF aircraft in the air. Please pray for Kennedy and other new candidates as they raise financial support to answer the call of God on their lives.
